Heavy and Commercial Equipment Appraisals
Damage appraisals and valuations on construction, agricultural, commercial, and municipal equipment throughout western Washington, including excavators, loaders, dozers, skid steers, backhoes, lifts, tractors, commercial trucks, trailers, and fleet units.
Scope
What the assignment includes
- Field inspection at a jobsite, yard, farm, or dealer, including units that cannot be transported
- Hour meter, serial number, model, attachment, and configuration documentation
- Repair estimate supported by dealer or specialty shop sourcing, including component-versus-rebuild analysis
- Actual cash value considered against equipment market data rather than retail automobile sources
- Pre-existing wear, deferred maintenance, and prior damage documented separately from the loss
- Total loss and salvage assessment where repair cost approaches or exceeds value
Scheduling and delivery
Scheduling is based on jobsite access, safety requirements, and unit availability. Where dealer parts quotations or specialty repair information drive the report timeline, that dependency is identified during the assignment.
Why equipment files go wrong
Two common failures are valuing equipment against the wrong market and including normal wear or deferred maintenance in the loss. A field inspection must distinguish configuration, hours, condition, and pre-existing use from direct loss damage.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do you inspect equipment at the jobsite?
Yes. Equipment may be inspected at jobsites, yards, farms, dealers, and other locations, subject to safe access and site requirements.
How is equipment value established?
The appraisal considers configuration, hours, condition, attachments, and equipment market evidence rather than relying on ordinary automobile valuation sources.
Do you handle agricultural and municipal units?
Yes. The service scope includes agricultural, fleet, and municipal equipment in addition to construction and commercial units.
Can the report address downtime or rental information?
Include the requested economic or rental documentation in the assignment. Meridian will confirm what factual inspection and repair timing information can be included in the appraisal scope.
